7 Best Redo Order Editing Alternatives for Shopify (2026)

Looking beyond Redo's free order editing? Compare 7 Shopify apps on cancellation offers, upsells, address validation, edit windows and price.

7 Best Redo Order Editing Alternatives for Shopify (2026)

Redo is best known as a returns and exchanges platform, and its order editing tool arrives as part of that ecosystem. Redo's own page describes it as free, with no monthly fee, no per-order charge and no feature gates. Customers can swap variants, update the shipping address, add or remove items, apply a discount code or cancel, and the merchant switches each action on or off.

Free is a hard price to beat, which is why merchants searching for a Redo alternative usually have a specific gap in mind. Some want more than edits, such as cancellation offers, upsells on the order status page or address validation. Others don't use Redo for anything else and prefer a vendor whose only job is post-purchase. A few have outgrown the controls and want to set windows, holds and rules at a finer level.

This guide compares seven alternatives on those points. It starts by laying out what Redo's order editing documents and what it doesn't. It then compares what each free plan covers, how each app closes the edit window and holds the order, and when a paid plan earns its price back. All facts come from each app's own Shopify listing, website or help center, checked in October 2026.

What Redo's Order Editing Covers

Redo's order editing page, its help center and its Shopify listing document a clear core. Customers edit from the Shopify order confirmation page, and the merchant can enable other touchpoints one at a time, such as the customer portal. Each enabled action has its own window. The help center suggests a start of one to two hours and gives an example of two hours for address changes and 30 minutes for cancellations.

Rules decide what each order type can do. Redo checks rules from top to bottom, and the first one that matches an order sets the actions and timing, with matching by order tag or order ID. Its page also says rules can filter by collection, order value or edit window.

An edit is allowed only if the order is unfulfilled, isn't partially fulfilled, isn't closed or cancelled, and is within the window. Redo's own OMS events also block edits: a label created, a packing slip printed or a pick session started. Edits that add cost put the order on hold, mark it partially paid and email the customer an invoice, and the hold releases when the invoice is paid. Redo uses two hold methods, Shopify Holds and order tags, with tags meant for systems such as ShipHero.

What the order editing page and help articles reviewed don't describe is equally useful to know. They don't mention a post-purchase upsell engine, address validation, cancellation offers at the point of cancellation, invoices, EU withdrawal handling or a list of edit window options. That isn't proof of absence, because Redo has other products, and the Shopify listing for the Redo app doesn't mention order editing at all. It does mean you should ask before assuming parity.

Why Merchants Look for a Redo Order Editing Alternative

  • Retention offers at cancellation. A refund button recovers nothing. Apps that show a gift card, free shipping, free item, discount or store credit first give you a chance to keep the sale.

  • Upsells on the order page. Merchants who want add-ons on the thank-you and order status pages need an upsell engine with targeting and testing, which isn't described on Redo's order editing pages.

  • Address validation and suggestions. Stores with undeliverable-address costs look for validation at the moment the customer edits.

  • A vendor focused on post-purchase. Redo's product spans returns, helpdesk, email, SMS and fulfillment. Some stores prefer a vendor where order editing is the main product.

  • Review depth specific to editing. Redo's 4.9 from 814 reviews covers the whole platform, while editing-specific apps show ratings from reviews about editing.

  • A defined support path. Dedicated apps publish what support each tier includes. Redo's order editing page doesn't describe a separate support path for it.

The 7 Best Redo Order Editing Alternatives

1. Account Editor

Redo gives order editing away as one part of a larger platform. Account Editor is the whole product, so the edit controls, the cancellation flow, the upsell engine, the invoice portal and the compliance forms work off one rule set. The Shopify listing shows 5.0 from 262 reviews, all five-star, with a Built for Shopify badge, and every plan has a 14-day trial.

Pricing is by monthly order volume with unlimited edits and every feature included: $39 for up to 1,200 orders, $99 for 1,201 to 5,000, $179 for 5,001 to 10,000 and $249 for 10,001 to 20,000. Annual billing takes 20% off. Address validation includes a monthly allotment (50 to 500 by band) and then charges $0.01 to $0.03 per check.

See what a free tool doesn't do. Account Editor adds cancellation offers, six upsell placements, address validation and invoices to the edit window, all on one plan from $39 a month.

2. Revize

Revize is the closest free-entry alternative to Redo, with a plan structure that adds paid tiers when you need more. According to its Shopify listing, the free plan covers 20 edits a month. It includes quantity and variant changes, shipping address, email and phone updates, auto-cancel with instant refunds, an EU withdrawal button and priority chat support. Starter is $49 for unlimited editing and Pro is $149.

The step up from Redo is in what the paid tiers add. The listing places AI upsells, product swaps, add-ons, the rules engine, reverse unpaid edits, invoices, discount and tax recalculation and store credit refunds on Pro. It lists 20 languages, 100+ integrations including Klaviyo, Recharge and Shopify Flow, and subscription and B2B order support. The app launched in November 2024, carries a Built for Shopify badge and shows 5.0 from 129 reviews, all of which are about this product and not a wider platform.

The tradeoff is the 20-edit cap, which a store with a few hundred orders can pass in a few weeks.

Key features:

  • Address, quantity, variant and contact edits with smart edit windows

  • Auto-cancel with instant refunds; store credit refunds on Pro

  • AI and email upsells (Pro)

  • Subscription and B2B order editing

  • 20 languages

Pros:

  • Free plan with an EU withdrawal button and priority chat

  • Built for Shopify, 20 languages

  • Editing-specific review base

Cons:

  • Free plan caps at 20 edits a month

  • Upsells and the rules engine need the $149 plan

  • Launched in 2024

Best for: Low-edit stores that want a free start with a clear paid path and wide language support.

Pricing: Free (20 edits); $49 Starter; $149 Pro.

3. OrderEditing.com

OrderEditing.com is the established alternative for stores that want a dedicated product with serious integrations. Its Shopify listing shows 5.0 from 346 reviews, the largest editing-specific base in this comparison, and a May 2023 launch. Every plan includes all features and integrations, with pricing by order volume: $99 for up to 2,500 orders, $199 for 2,500 to 5,000, $399 for 5,000 to 10,000 and $599 for 10,000 to 20,000.

Compared with Redo, the extra scope is in upsells (one-click and checkout), address validation in 100+ countries and cancellation handling within rules. The integration list names NetSuite, Celigo, Brightpearl, Fulfil.io, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and ShipStation. Its docs also list modules for downloadable invoices, gift notes, delivery rescheduling and a contact form for tickets. Its window options run from 2 minutes to open-ended settings such as "Until order fulfilled" and "Until Shopify Flow disables editing," and a setting can stop edits once an authorized payment is captured.

Address validation is billed per check by destination country, up to a monthly cap. Slack support from the founders starts on the $199 plan.

Key features:

  • Edits to address, products, shipping method and discount codes, plus cancellation

  • One-click and checkout upsells with no revenue share

  • Address validation with a monthly spending cap

  • 100+ integrations and rule-based windows

Pros:

  • Largest editing-specific review base

  • Flexible window options, including payment-capture stop

Cons:

  • $99 entry price and steep tier jumps

  • Address validation is a separate meter

  • No Built for Shopify badge on the listing

Best for: Mid-market and ERP-connected stores that want a dedicated vendor and can budget $99 or more.

Pricing: $99, $199, $399 and $599 per month by order volume; 7 to 14 day trials.

4. Cleverific Order Edit & Upsell

Cleverific is the veteran, with a February 2014 launch and a Shopify listing showing 4.6 from 233 reviews. It began as a staff tool for changing addresses, shipping rates, tax rates and line items, and built a customer self-serve window and AI-drafted upsells on top. Draft orders for phone and wholesale sales, tax-exempt marking and edits to older orders are part of that staff side.

The pricing is metered: $59 for 100 edits, $119 for 400 and $359 for 800, with overage on every plan and $1 for each upsell conversion. Its pricing page counts any modification made through Cleverific as an edit, including drafts and automations. SOC 2 Type II attestation is included only on Premium Plus.

For a Redo user, the extra scope is staff-side power and upsell testing, and the cost is a meter. The listing is English only and shows no Built for Shopify badge.

Key features:

  • Customer self-serve window with permissions at order, customer and line-item level

  • Staff Quick Mode and Advanced Mode, plus draft orders

  • AI upsells with A/B testing

  • Shopify Flow, ShipStation, NetSuite, Klaviyo, Rebuy and Recharge integrations

  • Ten years in the category

  • Staff and customer editing in one app

  • SOC 2 Type II option

Cons:

  • Metered edits and overage fees

  • $1 per upsell conversion

  • English only, no Built for Shopify badge

Best for: Stores that need staff-side editing and draft orders as well as customer self-serve.

Pricing: $59 (100 edits), $119 (400), $359 (800) per month, plus overage and $1 per upsell conversion.

5. CP: Order Editing & Upsell (ClickPost)

CP is the order editing app from ClickPost, and it is the nearest like-for-like free-entry competitor with more included. The listing shows a free tier for stores up to 500 orders with 25 free edits and $1 per additional edit. From $49 a month (500 to 5,000 orders) editing is unlimited, followed by $129 for 5,000 to 15,000 orders and $199 for 15,000 and up.

Every tier includes all features, Google address validation, a customizable edit window and post-purchase upsells on the thank-you and order status pages. ClickPost's site describes windows from 30 minutes to "Until Fulfilled," with daily time limits and fulfillment holds, and the app connects to 80+ WMS and 3PL systems. It launched in January 2025, carries a Built for Shopify badge and shows 5.0 from 73 reviews.

Cancellation is described as automated refunds or store credit, with EU withdrawal readiness, and the listing doesn't mention offers at the point of cancellation.

Key features:

  • Address, variant, quantity and item edits with discounts

  • Google address validation on every tier

  • Post-purchase upsells

  • Edit windows from 30 minutes to until fulfilled, with daily limits

  • 80+ WMS and 3PL connections

Pros:

  • $49 for unlimited editing at 500 to 5,000 orders

  • 73 reviews

  • Free tier charges $1 per edit beyond 25

  • No retention offers described at cancellation

Best for: Mid-volume stores that want upsells and address validation at a low flat price.

Pricing: Free to install (25 edits, then $1 each); $49; $129; $199 by order volume.

6. Relocate+ Order Editing

Relocate+ is the free-entry app with the longest track record among the low-cost options. It launched in April 2021, carries a Built for Shopify badge and shows 5.0 from 42 reviews. Its free plan allows one type of order editing with unlimited edits for that type, covering shipping address and rate changes, product edits, cancellations and note or gift message edits.

Basic at $19 a month gives unlimited editing across all of those, with automatic tagging of edited orders. Advanced at $39 adds time-based editing windows, product and order filters, the option to disable item removal, change logs, priority US-based support, white-glove onboarding and a dedicated account manager. Customers can pay price differences from confirmation emails and order status pages. It supports 33 languages and lists integrations with Easyship, Recharge, ShipStation and Starshipit.

The listing doesn't describe an upsell engine or an invoice portal, so it replaces Redo's editing but not an upsell or retention program.

Key features:

  • Address, variant, item, gift note and cancellation edits

  • Rules and time limits on Advanced

  • Automatic tagging of edited orders

  • 33 languages

Pros:

  • Free plan with unlimited edits for one type

  • $19 for unlimited editing

  • Built for Shopify

Cons:

  • No upsell engine or invoice portal described

  • Time windows need the $39 plan

  • 42 reviews

Best for: Small stores that want free or near-free editing with rules and wide language support.

Pricing: Free; $19 Basic; $39 Advanced; 7-day trial.

7. Editly

Editly is the newest app here, launched on April 30, 2026, with a Built for Shopify badge and 5.0 from 15 reviews. Its free plan allows 50 edits a month. Lite is $19 for 500 edits, Pro is $49 for 5,000 edits and Advanced is $249 for unlimited edits, with a 14-day trial on paid plans.

The feature set covers address, variant, quantity and item edits, a configurable edit window, restriction by customer tag, automatic recalculation of shipping, taxes and discounts, custom cancellation reasons and email notifications. The listing mentions Shopify Flow, Klaviyo and 3PL integration.

With 15 reviews and six months of history, it deserves more testing than the others before it handles live orders, especially the hold and sync behavior.

Key features:

  • Address, variant, quantity and item edits

  • Restriction by customer tag and custom cancellation reasons

  • Automatic shipping, tax and discount recalculation

  • Shopify Flow, Klaviyo and 3PL integration

Pros:

  • Free tier with 50 edits

  • Low-cost edit-based plans

  • Built for Shopify

Cons:

  • 15 reviews and a 2026 launch

  • English only

  • No upsell engine or invoice portal described

Best for: Small stores that want a larger free allowance than 20 or 25 edits and are comfortable adopting a new app.

Pricing: Free (50 edits); $19 Lite (500 edits); $49 Pro (5,000 edits); $249 Advanced (unlimited).

Keep the free habits, add the revenue features. Customers already edit for free. Account Editor adds cancellation offers and upsells to those same moments from $39 a month.

What Each Free Plan Actually Covers

Free plans differ in what they limit. Some cap edits, some limit the edit type and some limit order volume. The table lists each one as the vendor describes it.

App

Free plan limit

What the free plan includes

What needs a paid plan

Redo

None stated

Variant, item, address, discount and cancel edits; per-action windows; holds

Not described

Revize

Quantity, variant, address, email and phone edits; auto-cancel and refunds; EU withdrawal button

Unlimited edits ($49); upsells, rules engine, store credit refunds ($149)

CP

Up to 500 orders, 25 edits, then $1 each

Self-service edits, Google address validation, upsells (limit not stated)

Unlimited edits and 3PL integration ($49)

Relocate+

One edit type, unlimited

Address and rate, product, cancel, note edits (one type)

All types, tagging ($19); time windows, filters ($39)

Editly

50 edits a month

Address, variant, quantity and item edits

More edits ($19 and up)

Account Editor

No free plan

Not applicable

Every feature from $39, 14-day trial

Redo's free plan is the only one without a stated cap, which is its real advantage. The rest charge in edits, features or order volume, and Account Editor charges in none of those and instead prices by order band.

When a Paid Plan Pays for Itself

A free tool is the right default until a paid one earns more than it costs. The test is simple arithmetic on the revenue features a free tool may not include. The figures below are illustrative inputs, not measured results, so replace them with your own margin and conversion numbers.

Scenario

Illustrative input

Profit per event

Events to cover a $99 plan

Upsell conversion

$18 add-on at 40% margin

$7.20

14 per month (99 divided by 7.20 is 13.75)

Saved cancellation

$60 order at 35% margin

$21.00

5 per month (99 divided by 21 is 4.7)

Mixed

7 upsell conversions plus 2.5 saved cancellations

$50.40 + $52.50

About $103, which covers a $99 plan

At 3,000 orders a month, 14 upsell conversions is 0.5% of orders and 5 saved cancellations is under 0.2%. Those are small rates, which is why the question for a paid plan is whether the upsell and cancellation features work at all for your store, not whether the price is high. If the answer is yes, the plan pays for itself quickly. If your customers rarely cancel and you don't plan to run upsells, a free tool is a reasonable choice.

Measurement matters here, and a tool that doesn't report upsell revenue and cancellation saves can't tell you which side of the line you are on. The post-purchase metrics guide lists the counts worth tracking.

Plug your own margin into the numbers. The ROI calculator turns your order volume, edit rate and cost per ticket into a monthly estimate, so you can see where a paid plan starts to pay back.

How Each App Closes the Edit Window and Holds the Order

A window is only safe if it ends before your warehouse starts work. These are the documented mechanics for each app.

App

How the window is set

How the order is held

Redo

Per action, with rules by order tag or ID

Shopify Holds or order tags (for ShipHero-style systems); hold for unpaid additions

Account Editor

Minutes or hours, or Smart Window (days, cutoff with buffer, paused hours, timezone)

Hold orders setting; Hold & Revert for unpaid edits; import delay or fulfillment trigger hold by system type

Revize

Smart edit windows and recurring deadlines

Not detailed on the listing

OrderEditing.com

2 minutes to open-ended ("Until order fulfilled," "Until Shopify Flow disables editing")

Option to stop edits once an authorized payment is captured

CP

30 minutes to "Until Fulfilled," with daily time limits

Fulfillment holds, released when the window closes

Cleverific

Time limits, permissions and conditions

Fulfillment-aware locking by time, status or conditions

Redo's advantage is the per-action window, since address changes and cancellations rarely need the same deadline. Account Editor's Smart Window addresses a different problem, which is a warehouse day with a morning pick and an afternoon pack. Whichever you choose, test the edit-before-import and edit-after-import cases on a development store.

How to Choose the Right Redo Order Editing Alternative

  • List the features you need beyond edits. If cancellation offers, upsells, address validation or invoices are on the list, shortlist apps that include them. Free order editing alone won't cover them.

  • Decide what free should cost you. Free plans cap edits, edit types or order volume. Check where your store lands before you rely on one.

  • Check for retention at cancellation. An app that only refunds has no mechanism to keep the order. An offer flow, an approval step and a reason report do.

  • Price the revenue features with your own numbers. Use the pay-for-itself table above with your real margin and expected conversions.

  • Match the window to your warehouse. Per-action windows, Smart Window and payment-capture stops solve different problems. Pick the one that fits your pick and pack schedule.

  • Check review depth for editing specifically. A rating from a platform with many products isn't the same evidence as a rating from editing-only reviews.

  • Test hold and sync behavior. Run the edit-before-import and edit-after-import cases on any app you shortlist, with your 3PL or ERP connected.

Final Verdict

Redo's order editing is a good deal for what it costs, and a store that wants basic edits and cancellations with no budget line should look at it first. The case for an alternative is about what a free tool doesn't describe: cancellation offers, upsells, address validation, invoices, compliance forms and a vendor whose focus is post-purchase.

Account Editor is the best fit for merchants who are ready to pay for those features. Every feature is on every plan, edits are unlimited, and the price follows order volume from $39 to $249 a month. It has no free plan and costs more than a free tool, so a very small store may prefer Revize's, CP's or Relocate+'s free plans. For a store with 1,000 or more orders a month, the arithmetic above shows that a handful of upsell conversions or saved cancellations covers the plan.

Measure what a free tool can't. Account Editor's analytics report upsell revenue, conversion and cancellation reasons, so you can see whether the paid features earn their place.

Frequently asked questions

  • 01Is Redo order editing really free?

Redo's own page says there is no monthly fee, no per-order charge and no feature gates, and that it stays free whether or not you use other Redo products. Check the current terms on Redo's page before you rely on that.

  • 02What can customers change with Redo's order editing?

Customers can swap variants, update the shipping address, add or remove items, apply a discount code or cancel, and the merchant can toggle each action. Edits are allowed only on unfulfilled orders inside the edit window.

  • 03Does Redo's order editing include upsells or address validation?

The order editing page and help articles reviewed don't describe either. Redo has other products, so ask Redo directly if either one matters to you.

  • 04What is the best free alternative to Redo order editing?

Revize (20 edits), CP (25 edits for stores up to 500 orders), Relocate+ (one edit type) and Editly (50 edits) all have free plans, and each has a limit that Redo's page doesn't state. Which is best depends on whether you hit an edit cap, an order cap or an edit-type limit first.

  • 05Which alternative has cancellation offers?

Account Editor documents offers at the point of cancellation (gift card, free shipping, free item, discount or store credit), with approvals, restocking fees and reason reporting. Check the listing of any other app for retention offers before you assume them.

  • 06How do I keep edits from reaching the warehouse after shipping starts?

End the edit window before your 3PL or OMS imports the order, and hold the order if your system needs it. Test an edit before import and an edit after import with your integration connected.
